Welcome to Episode 3 of 'The Japan Diaries', covering The Art of Ministry's visit to the wonderful country of Japan!
This third episode covers our arrival in Nagoya, on a bullet train from Tokyo. Then it is off to the gigantic Nagoya Castle, with graceful deer feeding at the surrounding gardens. A visit is then made to Nagoya Legoland... yes, the land of coloured bricks... and taking in creative sculptures made entirely of Lego!
The second part of the journey covered in this episode is taking in Kyoto, a place of wild bamboo wilderness areas, a scenic train ride through forested rivers, and the beauty of Kyoto Botanic Gardens. Truly the beauty of God's creation is on show.
Look out for new episodes of 'The Japan Diaries' as they appear!

Come and see Mark’s historical biography of the life of Jesus transformed into a 90 minute, theatre-in-the-round stage production.

Greetings wonderful listeners, this is Jon from The Art of Ministry Podcast.
Welcome to a trailer for something quite exciting; The Art of Ministry Podcast recently went to Japan, taking in such places as Tokyo, Kyoto and Electric Town... all culminating in a final journey to the World Expo Osaka!
On the way, plenty of amazing art was seen, and some fascinating examples of Christian history in Japan. One of the questions I was interested in was: what can we learn from this very different culture about how they use the arts... and what might be some interesting possibilities for the church?
So grab your rucksack and come along on a journey through Japan as we look at learnings that God has provided. I look forward to journeying with you very soon in 'The Japan Diaries'.

Oooooooooyeah it's a big show today BECAUSE.... Freezedream is here!
The Adelaide based electronic musician is making waves with his new album 'Lazarus'... but he's been innovating and creating in the electronic music field since being a young musician and setting challenges for himself in sound experimentation.
We were blessed to have a fantastic chat with Nathan (Freezedream) about his new album 'Lazarus' and how he uses his music to show the wonder of God.
You can find Nathan's music here:

Enjoy the new episode!

Hi! Jon here - just a quick PSA that Engage Work Faith (a group I work with) is holding a movie and discussion night in Adelaide, South Australia, for the new Bonhoeffer movie!
It will be held at Capri Cinema. Full details about the movie and tickets can be found at the Engage Work Faith website:https://engageworkfaith.org.au/bonhoeffer-movie-night/
About the event: Dietrich Bonhoeffer is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating figures in world history - a man who was both a pastor/theologian as well as being caught up in an assassination plot against Hitler. Come join Engage Work Faith for a private screening of this new film, followed by a panel of experts discussing a controversial figure who, with courage and conviction, deals with complex moral decisions.
If you're in Adelaide, I hope to see you there! Until next episode (which very soon) - have a wonderful day and God bless,
Jon (The Art of Ministry Podcast)

Have you ever watched a movie about Jesus, or seen a stage show that portrays the gospels? Or maybe you've read a book that is really strong in how Jesus is portrayed?
In this episode, Lochy and Jon explore the world of cinema, musicals, stage shows and the written media. From the cinematic movie ‘The Nativity’ to recent handheld phone/tablet applications - like ‘The Bible App for Children’ - this show is about looking at artistic representations that have Jesus at the front and centre.
What makes a production really good? Are there things we should remember before creating a production that features Jesus and his teachings? Enjoy a wide-ranging discussion that deeply explores multiple media worldwide (and across history).
Don’t forget – you can join the discussion on 'The Art of Ministry' Facebook page!
Let's continue the conversation!
Blessings, the AOM Crew

Welcome! We're so glad to see you!

Lochy and I would love you to be part of this community of people interested in Christian ministry and the arts, who desire to use our gifts and talents to share the gospel.

We have diverse guests on our show from all kinds of different artistic backgrounds and endeavours: they have expert advice, strategies and insights that will help you to be the best artist you can be and, most of all, find creative ways to share the Good News about Jesus Christ in church and evangelistic contexts.

Oh... and I should also say... we have a LOT of laughs and hilarity on this show, so expect to get the giggles. That's kind of how we do things here. We can't wait to have you on board!
